Anatomy of the Scent
A candle’s fragrance unfolds in three distinct layers, each one playing a vital role in how the scent evolves over time.
- Notes de tête (Top Notes) – The initial impression. Bright, refreshing, and light, these are the first scents to fill the air as the candle burns.
- Notes de cœur (Heart Notes) – The heart of the fragrance. As the top notes fade, these emerge to define the fragrance’s true character.
- Notes de fond (Base Notes) – The lasting presence. Warm, deep, and rich, these notes unfold last, lingering in the space long after the flame is extinguished.
- Remove all packaging material before lighting.
- Keep all objects, including matches and wick trimmings out of the candle.
- Do not burn candle for more than 2-3 hours at a time. Vessel will be hot when candle is lit.
- Do not allow flame to touch vessel. Allow candle to cool before relighting.
- Should any black smoke appear, trim the wick; wick should be clean and no longer than 5 mm.
- Always protect the surface on which the candle rests.
- Do not burn wax down to the bottom. Avoid drafty areas.
- Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury and/or property damage.
