The iconic collection of glass birds designed by Oiva Toikka for Iittala was released in 1972. Each bird is a unique art object that combines Toikka's passion for nature with the art of glassblowing. Handmade and mouth-blown at the Iittala glass factory, the collection is a rich fusion of traditional glass art with the craftsmanship of Toikka and his team.

Birds by Toikka Kuulas measures 140 x 90 mm and is made of simple rain-coloured glass that emphasises the bird's plump body. The flat tail and drop-shaped head are of contrasting dark glass.
