Iittala Birds by Toikka Uuhu

The iconic collection of glass birds designed by Finnish design legend Oiva Toikka for Iittala came out in 1972. A new bird is added every year. Each bird is a unique art object and combines Toikka's passion for nature and for the art of glassblowing. Handmade and mouth-blown at the Iittala glass factory, the collection merges traditional glass art with the craftsmanship of Toikka and his team.

Birds by Toikka Uuhu is a large, quirky bird. Under severe eyebrows, he has vivid orange eyes with a playful gaze. His elliptical body is made of marbled brown glass. The size of the Uhuu is 160 x 260 mm.

Nowadays, Toikka birds are real collectors' items - collectors all over the world are looking for rare specimens. Each of the beautiful birds is mouth-blown, they are unique works of art with their own character, which is why they may differ slightly from the sample photo.
